DS: When did you move here?
KT: I moved here from Hong Kong when I was 15. I was so excited to come to the United States.

DS: Did you already know English?
KT: In my school, all of the subjects were taught in English. The only exception was Chinese classes.

DS: That doesn't sound bad. Why were you so anxious to come here?
KT: I went to an all-girls Catholic school for eight years. It was so strict. Shirts had to be past your knees. I couldn't wait to come to the States and go to a co-ed high school.

DS: Was it tough to make the transition?
KT: I already spoke English, so it wasn't too bad. Although, the English I spoke had a British accent. I used to say "Cahnt" instead of can't. Peer pressure quickly fixed my accent.

DS: Did you experience any culture shock?
KT: I never wore makeup in Hong Kong, so that was something I had to learn to do. For prom and high school pictures, my girlfriend did my makeup. I still miss the city-life aspect of Hong Kong. I mean in Hong Kong there are tons of people around you constantly and there's always something open.

DS: Where did you go to high school?
KT: I went to a high school in Ventura County. There weren't too many Asians at my school, so I assimilated quickly.

DS: It says on your bio that you are an only child. Were you spoiled?
KT: Very.

DS: What are you studying now in college?
KT: My major is biochemistry. It may sound corny, but I would love to develop new drugs that cure disease and improve the quality of life.

DS: Speaking of enjoying life…do you eat?
KT: You wouldn't believe how much I eat. I just don't gain weight. I know in 20 years it will probably catch up to me, but for now I'm living it up.

DS: How did you get into the import scene?
KT: I love cars and so do my friends. We used to go to all of our local events and then my friends pushed me to do some modeling and it kind of snowballed from there.

DS: What's the biggest misconception people have about you?
KT: Most people think I am ABC (American born Chinese), so they don't believe that I can speak Cantonese.

DS: Are you hardcore Chinese? Can you eat the nasty stuff? Chicken feet and all that?
KT: I can't eat chicken feet, but I can eat the "1000 year" eggs.

DS: We heard that you are planning to buy a new car.
KT: I love the 2005 Subaru WRX STi, so I was really looking forward to see the 2006. Unfortunately, the pictures I've seen of the 2006 are pretty disappointing. I really don't like the new grille. I'll probably wait to see it in person to see if it grows on me. Otherwise, I might just pick up a 2005.

DS: I'm running out of questions.
KT: Are you going to make up stuff to fill the space?

DS: Yeah, we do that most of the time?
KT: Are you kidding?

DS: No. But don't worry. We haven't had a model complain yet.
KT: I'm scared.
