PUBLISHER'S NOTE December 2008 - Issue 72

2008: A Year to Remember

It's hard to believe that 2008 is coming to an end. This year has been a tough but rewarding year for DSPORT. As our competition has withered away, we've grown to reach more readers than ever before. We've added staff and made new partnerships to help grow our DSPORT family. Once again, we owe our success to our readers, so thank you for your continued support. We'll be working around the clock to bring you the best import performance magazine and DVD on the newsstand.

DSPORT DVD #5

Our fifth DSPORT DVD is not only our longest production at over 100 minutes; it's also our best. In this DVD, Host Andrew, Editor-in-Chief Robert and I had the opportunity to road test the new STI and EVO. If you are an enthusiast thinking about the purchase of one of these two vehicles, our reviews will get you pointed in the right direction. We also were able to tackle tire tech on this DVD. Tires are easily one of the most underappreciated components on a vehicle. However, the right set of tires will easily make a good car "great." In this three part segment on tire tech, we include a behind-the-scenes glimpse of tire tech and development. Our day at the test track with Nitto Tire engineers and professional drivers gave us a new appreciation for the engineering that goes into tires. Based on what we learned about the Nitto

NT-05 performance tire, we expect this new tire to take the "S-compound" street-performance market by storm with its February 2009 release. Thanks to Euijoon Kim for putting in all the hours to make the tire tech segments a reality. Coverage of Redline Time Attack, the Little Tokyo Nisei Car Show, Japan's Nismo Festival and Australian Drift and Drag events provide for a stellar mix of action-packed events. As always, DSPORT cover model shoots and feature car segments never disappoint. This DSPORT DVD also looks better than ever thanks to the awesome post-production noise-reduction, encoding and mastering done by Dogma Studios of Marina Del Rey.

The Future

While we are as pleased as can be with the quality of the content in this issue of the magazine and the DVD, we never stop looking for ways to improve our products. With the magazine, we are dialing in the workflow to allow even more accurate color reproduction. Look for even better photography and content in 2009. As for the DVDs, we are adding two more HD cameras, upgrading sound equipment and searching for new and original music. If you or someone you know produces original music, get a CD sent our way. In addition to earning a few dollars, your sound can be heard by the 700,000 viewers of DSPORT DVDs. Now that's exposure.

DSPORT 2009 Calendar

Next month, we'll have our January 2009 edition featuring our 2009 DSPORT Calendar. As always, this Calendar edition is expected to sell out in many retailers. Remember that DSPORT is available in nearly every bookstore, convenience store and supermarket chain. If you don't find it at your first stop, check out the rest in your area. If you still can't find it, subscribe at dsportmag.com so that you don't miss an issue.

We look forward to a great 2009.
